Relief to students: One-year validity given to unrecognized private schools in Haryana

Keeping in mind the future of the students, the Haryana Government has provided a major relief to the students studying in these by providing temporary accreditation / Board of Education affiliation to the unaccredited private schools for the year 2020-21.

A government spokesman said here today that this recognition has been extended for one year on the basis that the operators of the said schools can meet the standards set by the government. In this regard, a delegation of private schools recently, through the Minister of Education, requested to extend the temporary recognition of schools/affiliation to the Board of Education for another year, i.e. 2020-21.

Sarkari Exam taken by the School Education Board Bhiwani were cited on behalf of the schools. Keeping this in mind, the government has decided to give the above relief for one more year.

It is noteworthy that there are 639 such schools in the state whose permanent recognition is still pending and there are 699 such schools which are still running despite the cancellation. These schools were given temporary recognition for one year for the previous year 2019-20 stating that temporary recognition will not be granted from the following year.

Every year, some people have challenged the grant of temporary recognition in the High Court, saying that such recognition is being violated by the Haryana School Education Act 2003. After the Chief Minister's order in this regard, a committee was constituted under the leadership of the Director of Secondary Education Department, which has submitted its report and the government will make a decision on it soon.
